This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounting Manager to take ownership of an established client portfolio of approximately $1 million in annual fees, while playing an important leadership role within our accounting team. You'll work closely with our partners and accountants to deliver exceptional client service, maintain high technical standards and ensure work is completed efficiently and accurately. The role combines client relationship management, technical accounting expertise, quality control, team development and practice improvement.

Key responsibilities

Manage an established client portfolio of approximately $1 million in annual fees, taking ownership of client relationships, service delivery, workflow and overall portfolio performance.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted adviser and identifying opportunities to provide additional value.

Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, income tax returns, BAS and other compliance work.

Maintain strong quality control and consistent technical standards across your client portfolio and accounting team.

Lead, mentor and develop accountants, providing technical guidance, constructive feedback and ongoing support.

Manage workflow, priorities and deadlines to ensure client work progresses efficiently and service expectations are met.

Provide advice on complex accounting and taxation matters, working collaboratively with partners where required.

Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency and reduce rework.

Work closely with partners on client matters,



team development and the ongoing growth of the practice.

Foster a positive, collaborative and accountable team environment.

About you

Demonstrated experience as an Accounting Manager or Senior Manager within Australian public practice.

CA or CPA qualifications.

Proven experience managing a substantial portfolio of business clients.

Strong knowledge of Australian taxation, financial reporting and compliance requirements.

Extensive experience reviewing financial statements and tax returns.

Experience leading, mentoring and developing accounting staff.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted, long-term client relationships.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

A proactive, solutions-focused approach to client service and team management.

Experience with Xero and accounting practice management systems.
