Lower Plenty Hotel is looking for a hands-on, confident and motivated Duty Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong hospitality leader who enjoys being on the floor, supporting their team and ensuring every guest has a fantastic experience.

We are a busy, well-established venue featuring a vibrant public bar, an inviting terrace, Gaming Room, large bistro and a renowned kids' play area. With a diverse range of guests and a fast-paced operation, no two shifts are the same.

We're looking for someone who can take ownership of a shift, inspire their team and, most importantly, isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and jump in wherever needed.

About the role

As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the venue, ensuring smooth service, strong team performance and consistently high standards across all areas of the hotel.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading, motivating and supporting the team to deliver outstanding customer service.

- Being hands-on across the public bar, terrace, bistro and gaming room, stepping in wherever the business needs you.

- Managing daily operations and ensuring service runs efficiently, even during peak periods.

- Creating a welcoming, friendly and memorable experience for our guests.

- Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness, safety and responsible service.

- Overseeing staff performance, delegating tasks and leading confidently through busy services.

- Ensuring compliance with RSA, RSG, TAB and relevant gaming and liquor regulations.

- Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally and confidently.





- Building a positive team culture where people support one another and take pride in what they do.

About you

We're looking for someone who brings energy, initiative and genuine leadership to the floor.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Proven experience in a Duty Manager or senior hospitality leadership role.

- A hands-on approach and the confidence to lead from the front.

- Exceptional customer service skills and a genuine passion for hospitality.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate, develop and manage a team.

- The ability to remain calm, organised and decisive in a high-volume environment.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.

- Current RSA, RSG and TAB accreditation.

- Flexibility and availability to work nights, weekends and public holidays.

- A strong understanding of venue operations, compliance and responsible service practices.
