About the role

We are seeking an experienced, trustworthy and highly capable couple to live onsite and assist with the day-to-day running of a private family residence in Melbourne. This is a long-term position suited to a couple who genuinely enjoy being part of a family setting while taking pride in maintaining a beautiful home and property. The responsibilities will be divided primarily between family/household support and property/estate management, although both individuals will be expected to work together and assist each other when required. Privacy, discretion, reliability and the ability to anticipate what needs to be done without constant direction are essential.

Key responsibilities

Family & Household Support

- Provide caring, patient and reliable support for the 6-year-old child with special needs

- Assist with the child's daily routine at home and drive to school

- Provide supervision and age-appropriate engagement and activities

- Provide practical support around appointments, activities and other commitments when required

- Maintain a calm, safe and supportive home environment

- Prepare dinner

- Assist with meal planning and household grocery requirements

- Maintain an organised kitchen, pantry and household supplies

- Undertake light day-to-day cleaning and tidying

- Assist with laundry and household organisation as required

Property & Estate Management

- Take day-to-day responsibility for the presentation and operational condition of the property

- Conduct regular checks of the residence and identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems

- Arrange and coordinate tradespeople, contractors and service providers

- Obtain quotes when required and coordinate access to the property

- Supervise work undertaken by contractors and ensure jobs are completed properly

- Oversee and maintain the swimming pool, tennis court, garden and surrounding areas

- Keep outdoor areas tidy,



safe and well presented

- Manage bins and general external property presentation

- Monitor the condition and operation of household systems and arrange servicing or repairs where required

Shared Responsibilities

- Treat the residence as a private family home, not simply a workplace

- Maintain excellent presentation of the home and grounds

- Work together to ensure the household operates smoothly

- Assist with receiving deliveries, contractors and service providers

- Maintain household and property supplies

- Assist with preparation for family gatherings and guests

- Be comfortable working around children and family members

- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries while being warm and personable

- Exercise absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding the family, residence, visitors and personal matters

Particularly desirable experience

For the family support role:

- Previous nanny, family assistant, disability support or special-needs experience

- Genuine confidence working with children with additional needs

- First Aid/CPR

- Working with Children Check

- Strong cooking and household organisation skills

For the estate/property role:

- Property, estate, facilities or maintenance management experience

- Practical maintenance skills

- Experience managing trades and contractors

- Understanding of pool, garden and general property maintenance

- Strong organisational and follow-up skills

A current driver's licence would be expected for both roles.
