Professional expertise. Personal purpose.
Start your traffic engineering career working on issues that affect how people move around Blacktown City every day. You investigate traffic and parking concerns, analyse speeding and crash data, research existing road conditions and develop concept solutions for minor traffic engineering works.
You prepare technical advice, respond to customer requests and contribute traffic and transport input to development and planning matters. You also assist with transport plans and studies, grant applications, consultant projects, works programs, budgets and performance reporting.
Your work turns technical information, relevant standards and community feedback into practical solutions. Each investigation and project supports safer, more efficient and sustainable local roads, parking and transport services.
This role suits someone with a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent, or who is completing their final semester. You must bring strong analytical and communication skills, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to work as part of a team.
At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here,
you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:
- a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
- an entry level salary commencing at $1,690.22 per week
- a 35-hour working week
- access to Council's flextime arrangement

- ongoing training and development support
- access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
