Edworks is one of Melbourne's established tutoring organisations, supporting students since 1990. With centres across Armadale, Brighton, Doncaster and Mount Waverley.

About the Role

You will deliver structured, engaging lessons aligned with students’ learning needs and the Victorian Curriculum. You will help students strengthen their foundations, understand challenging concepts, improve problem-solving skills and prepare for assessments and examinations.

Regular working hours:

- Permanent Part Time Position - 20-24 Hours per week
- Weekdays: 3 – 4 evenings, 3:45 pm – 7:15 pm
- Saturday: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
- Total: Approximately 20 – 24 hours per week, depending on the agreed roster and applicable breaks.

The permanent part time role will commence on 18 January 2027. The successful candidate must be available for the agreed roster and commit to at least 18 months.

Required training and onboarding will be arranged during December 2026, before the permanent role commences. Training will be paid in accordance with applicable employment requirements.

The successful candidate will generally be allocated to one primary centre but must be willing to work occasionally at other Edworks centres, depending on student enrolments and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach English and Mathematics to students in Years 1 – 10.
- Teach VCE English, Mathematics and Chemistry where required and within your demonstrated subject competence.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students’ learning needs.
- Support homework, revision, assessments, examination preparation and academic extension.
- Adapt explanations and teaching strategies to suit different abilities and learning styles.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate attendance records and lesson notes.




- Communicate professionally with colleagues and follow Edworks’ academic procedures.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment.
- Follow Edworks’ child safety policies, professional standards and Code of Conduct.

Preferred work locations: Applicants must nominate at least two preferred centres from Armadale, Brighton, Doncaster and Mount Waverley and clearly state their preferences in their resume. The successful candidate will generally be allocated to one primary centre, with occasional work at other centres as required.

About You

Essential Requirements

- Strong English and Mathematics knowledge suitable for teaching Years 1 – 10.
- The ability to teach VCE English, Mathematics and Chemistry where required, supported by appropriate subject knowledge and relevant experience.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
- A patient, approachable, organised and professional attitude.
- The ability to engage students and support their individual learning needs.
- A valid Australian driver’s licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Current Australian work rights.
- Availability for the agreed roster and commitment to at least 18 months.
- A current Victorian employee Working with Children Check (WWCC), or eligibility to obtain the required clearance before commencing child-related work.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

- Completion of secondary schooling in Victoria and familiarity with the Victorian Curriculum and VCE system.




- A robust ATAR or equivalent academic results.
- Current or completed university studies in education, teaching, English, Mathematics, Chemistry or a related discipline.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience with primary and secondary students.
- Experience preparing students for scholarship examinations, selective-entry assessments or academic extension programs.

Victorian secondary schooling and a strong ATAR are desirable but not mandatory. We value strong subject knowledge, effective teaching ability, reliability and a genuine commitment to student success.
