JOB DESCRIPTION – CLEANER

Position Title: Cleaner
Department: Cleaning Services
Reports To: Cleaning Supervisor / Business Owner
Employment Type: Casual / Part-Time / Full-Time
Location: Client premises and residential properties

1. Position Overview

The Cleaner is responsible for providing high-quality residential, End of lease, hoarding and squalor cleaning and commercial cleaning services to clients. The role involves maintaining clean, hygienic and safe environments while delivering reliable, professional and friendly customer service.

The successful applicant must demonstrate attention to detail, honesty, reliability and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

2. Key Responsibilities

General Cleaning Duties

- Vacuum and mop floors.
- Sweep floors and clean hard surfaces.
- Dust furniture, fittings, skirting boards and other surfaces.
- Clean kitchens, including benches, sinks, cupboards and appliances.
- Clean and sanitise bathrooms, toilets, showers and washbasins.
- Clean mirrors, glass and windows where required.
- Empty rubbish bins and replace bin liners.
- Remove cobwebs and clean accessible areas.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.

Residential Cleaning

- Perform regular domestic cleaning.
- Complete deep cleaning tasks when requested.
- Clean bedrooms, living areas, kitchens and bathrooms.
- Respect clients’ personal belongings and privacy.
- Follow individual client cleaning requirements.

Commercial Cleaning

- Clean offices, workplaces and commercial premises.
- Clean staff kitchens, amenities and common areas.
- Sanitise high-touch surfaces.




- Maintain hygienic and presentable work environments.
- Follow workplace cleaning schedules and checklists.

3. Customer Service Responsibilities

- Maintain a friendly and professional attitude.
- Arrive on time and complete scheduled work.
- Communicate respectfully with clients.
- Respect client privacy and confidentiality.
- Report any damage, hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Respond professionally to client feedback.
- Represent the company positively at all times.

4. Workplace Health and Safety

- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and according to instructions.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Use cleaning equipment correctly.
- Maintain a safe and organised work environment.
- Report accidents, injuries and hazards immediately.

5. Skills and Qualifications

The successful applicant should demonstrate:

- Previous cleaning experience (preferred but not essential).
- Good attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliability, honesty and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and cleaning schedules.




- Physical ability to perform cleaning duties safely.
- Flexibility and availability at short notice

6. Other Requirements

- Current driver’s licence (required for the position).
- Reliable transport (required).
- National Police Check, mandatory willing to obtain
- Working With Children Check, mandatory willing to obtain
- Disability screening clearance, mandatory willing to obtai.
- Availability to work flexible schedule is required, operational hours are 7 days 7am -9pm

Pay: $27.08 – $34.96 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 38.0 per week
