Job Title: Sports Development Officer

Location: Brisbane, QLD

Work Type: Full time (38 hours/week)

Salary: $73,150 – $80,000 per annum + Superannuation

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced Sports Development Officer to join our organisation. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering high-quality sports development programs, athlete pathway initiatives, and community engagement activities. You will work closely with coaches, athletes, and management to foster athletic potential and expand participation across our programs.

Key Responsibilities

- Program Planning & Delivery: Design, implement, and evaluate structured sports development pathways,coaching clinics, and training programs.
- Athlete & Talent Development: Identify athletic talent, monitor progression, and support athlete transition from foundational to competitive squads.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with sports governing bodies, schools, local clubs, and community partners to promote sporting initiatives and events.
- Event & Competition Management: Organise, coordinate, and supervise sporting camps, competitions, and development workshops.
- Administrative & Operational Support: Track program outcomes,



maintain participant records, ensure safety compliance, and prepare developmental reports for management.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Diploma or higher qualification in Sports Development, Sports Management, Exercise Science,Physical Education, or a closely related field.
- Athletic Background: Demonstrated competitive athlete experience in competitive sports (provincial, national, or collegiate level preferred).
- Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in sports development, coaching management, or athletic program administration.
- Clearances & Compliance: Current (or eligibility to obtain) Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and valid First Aid & CPR certifications.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, solid organizational capability, and the ability to inspire and mentor youth athletes.
