About the Role

CarePro is seeking an experienced and compassionate female Disability Support Worker to support an NDIS participant based in Dandenong.

The participant uses a wheelchair and has complex medical needs, alongside psychosocial and mental health disabilities. We are looking for someone with strong experience in complex disability support who can provide reliable, person-centred care and assist the participant with daily living activities and community access.

The successful candidate must be confident, patient, empathetic and capable of supporting individuals with complex medical and mental health needs.

Shift Schedule & Responsibilities

1. Personal Care & Daily Living Support

Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

- Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Thursday

- Time: 8:00 am – 11:00 am

Responsibilities include:

- Assisting with personal care, hygiene and daily living activities.
- Supporting the participant with meal preparation.
- Assisting with daily routines and maintaining personal comfort.
- Providing appropriate assistance with wheelchair-related mobility and transfers, in accordance with the participant's care plan and training.
- Monitoring the participant's general wellbeing and reporting any concerns.
- Providing companionship and emotional support.

2. Community Access Support

Tuesday and Wednesday

- Time: 8:00 am – 11:00 am

Responsibilities include:

- Accompanying the participant on public transport, including buses and trains.




- Supporting the participant to travel safely into Melbourne CBD.
- Assisting with navigating public transport and ensuring a safe and comfortable journey.
- Providing appropriate support throughout the journey.

Important: The shift concludes once the participant has safely arrived in the city.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

- Previous experience supporting participants with complex disabilities and medical needs.
- Experience supporting individuals with psychosocial and mental health disabilities.
- Experience assisting wheelchair users.
- Confidence providing personal care and meal preparation.
- Ability to independently navigate Melbourne's public transport network.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, compassionate and professional approach.

Mandatory Checks & Qualifications

- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or equivalent (minimum).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Working With Children Check (if applicable).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport (desirable).

Experience in complex care, manual handling and mental health support will be highly regarded.
