Night Cleaners & Night Supervisors Wanted – Sydney | $45–55/hour | Mon–Fri Nights

The role – Night Cleaner

- Medical-grade cleaning of operating theatres, cath labs and support areas
- Follow hospital infection control procedures on every shift
- Terminal cleaning, waste segregation,



and safe handling of clinical and sharps waste
- Use hospital-grade chemicals, colour-coded equipment and PPE correctly
- Operate deep-cleaning machines, including auto scrubbers, scrubber-dryers, floor polishers and burnishers, steam cleaners, carpet extractors and wet/dry vacuums
- Do pre-start checks and clean-downs on machines, and report any faults
- A weekly deep-clean night
- Follow our checklists so every clean meets the Equilux standard
- Take photos to verify your work, and sign in and out of every shift
- Follow the hospital’s security and access rules

The role – Night Supervisor

- Lead and coordinate the night team on site
- Allocate areas and tasks so theatres are ready for the next day
- Run quality checks against our checklists and hospital infection control standards
- Be the main contact for hospital staff overnight, and report any issues or incidents
- Train the team on hospital procedures, PPE, chemical safety and safe machine use
- Keep shift records, photo verification and consumables tracking up to date
- Work hands-on alongside the team

About you

- 3 years’ minimum cleaning experience. Hospital, theatre or healthcare cleaning experience is a must.




- Skilled and confident operating deep-cleaning machines, with experience in hard floor care
- Understands infection control (a Certificate III in Cleaning Operations or an infection control course is a plus)
- Supervisors: previous team leader or supervisor experience in healthcare or commercial cleaning
- Comfortable working permanent night shifts
- Own reliable transport (public transport is limited late at night)
- Trustworthy and detail-focused. You’ll be working in a clinical environment overnight.
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude

Requirements

- A National Police Check
- Evidence of vaccinations or immunity as required by the hospital (typically hepatitis B, MMR, varicella, diphtheria/tetanus/pertussis and the annual flu vaccine, plus TB screening)
- The right to work in Australia
- A Tax File Number

Pay

- Night Cleaner (casual): $46–49 per hour Mon–Thu nights, and $52–55 per hour after midnight on Fridays
- Night Supervisor (part-time): $45–48 per hour Mon–Thu nights, and $50–53 per hour after midnight on Fridays, plus a leading hand allowance
- Public holiday rates apply on public holidays
- Plus 12% super, paid fortnightly
