ManCave Workwear is an Australian workwear and lifestyle retailer, delivering premium workwear and footwear for tradies and industrial workers alongside a growing range of lifestyle apparel for everyday wear. With multiple retail locations across Australia and a growing eCommerce presence, ManCave partners with leading brands to provide high-quality products, exceptional customer service and a strong team culture.
Our stores operate across Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria, bringing together a team that's genuinely passionate about retail and committed to delivering industry-leading sales and customer service.
The Role:
We’re looking for a Retail Supervisor to supervise and coordinate our retail sales team and the daily operations of our DFO Cairns store. Leading from the front on the sales floor, you’ll monitor staff performance, maintain operational standards and make sure company policies and procedures are followed, while overseeing customer service, rostering, inventory control and stock ordering, pricing, merchandising and store security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the retail sales team and daily store operations, including opening and closing the store
- Monitor staff performance, provide regular coaching and feedback, and raise performance or disciplinary matters with management
- Ensure staff comply with company policies and procedures, and handle staff concerns and grievances in the first instance
- Implement store procedures and maintain operational standards across customer service, store presentation, stock handling and security
- Drive the store to meet and exceed monthly sales targets and grow average transaction value
- Set and maintain high customer service standards, making sure customers get the right workwear, boots and safety gear for their trade or site
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve escalated complaints, including sizing, safety ratings, site compliance and trade or bulk account enquiries
- Prepare weekly staff rosters around trading hours and peak periods, and allocate daily duties across register, floor, receiving and merchandising
- Take part in recruiting new staff, and run inductions and on-the-job training on products, procedures and systems
- Guide the team on trade and bulk orders, embroidery and branding requests, lay-bys and special orders
- Manage returns, exchanges and warranty claims
- Control inventory through regular stocktakes and cycle counts, monitoring stock levels and placing or recommending reorders for core brands
- Receive and check supplier deliveries against purchase orders and follow up any discrepancies
- Keep ticketing, pricing, promotions and visual merchandising up to standard
- Enforce workplace health and safety, cash handling, banking, security and loss-prevention procedures
What's in it for you?
- The chance to be part of a growing business and a motivated and energetic team
- Ongoing support from our experienced and successful management team
- Training in our operations, systems and premium range of products
- Generous staff, friends and family discounts
About You:
- At least one year of retail experience, ideally including supervising staff or working in a senior sales role
- Certificate II or III in Retail (or similar) highly regarded – relevant experience will be considered in place of formal qualifications
- Proven track record of hitting sales targets and KPIs
- Confident leader and communicator who can supervise, train, motivate and organise a team
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve complaints calmly and professionally
- Experience using POS and inventory systems, including stock control and ordering
- Organised, with strong attention to detail across stock, pricing and cash handling
- Flexible and adaptable to change as the business grows in a fast-paced industry
- Must have the right to work in Australia
If you feel you tick these boxes and more, we'd love to hear from you! Apply by uploading your cover letter and resume, outlining why you'd like to join the ManCave team and the skills you can bring.
