Details: Are you an organised administration professional with strong financial processing skills and an interest in supporting environmental outcomes for the ACT?

The ACT Parks and Conservation Service is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business and Administration Support Officer to join the Environmental Offsets team. This role provides critical business, financial and administrative support to a agile team responsible for delivering environmental offset commitments associated with major development projects across the ACT.

As the Business and Administration Support Officer, you will coordinate invoicing and expenditure tracking, support budget monitoring and reporting, manage administrative workflows, and contribute to the development of efficient business systems and processes. Working closely with managers, ecologists, rangers and corporate support areas, you will help ensure the team meets its governance, reporting and financial compliance obligations.

We are looking for someone with demonstrated experience in administration and financial processing, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy work environment. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential. Experience with financial systems such as APIAS, Oracle, Converga or similar will be highly regarded.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile environmental program that supports the protection and management of nationally significant ecological values while working within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

Essential

- Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel.

Desirable

- Experience with financial processes and APIAS.
- A full Australian driver’s licence
- Knowledge and/or experience of conservation land management planning, including programs aimed at protecting threatened species and ecological communities.
- Ability to undertake incident management duties, including participation in fire standby, fire suppression and fire training.

How to Apply: Applicants are required to submit a written response of no more than two pages addressing the Selection Criteria outlined in the Position Description. The response should highlight your relevant skills, experience and achievements, and demonstrate your suitability for the role. Applicants should also provide a current curriculum vitae and the contact details of two referees, including a current or recent manager.

Applications should be submitted .

Note: Under the ACTPS employment framework you may be placed in another role where required for the efficient administration of the service.

The ACT public service is committed to closing the gap, underpinned by the belief that when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a genuine say in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services that affect them, better life outcomes are achieved.
