We are seeking a skilled and reliable Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining excellent food safety standards, and ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for food, good organisational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced café environment while delivering consistently delicious meals and excellent customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of café dishes, including breakfast, brunch, lunch, and daily specials.
- Ensure all meals are prepared to a high standard of quality, taste, and presentation.
- Monitor food stock levels, order ingredients, and minimise food waste.
- Maintain consistent portion sizes and control food costs.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Keep kitchen work areas, equipment, and storage facilities clean and organised.
- Follow correct food storage, temperature control, and handling procedures.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods and meet preparation and service deadlines.




- Assist with stock rotation, inventory management, and supplier coordination.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure excellent service.
- Assist with food preparation, kitchen opening, closing, and cleaning duties as required

Skills and Qualifications

- Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a café, restaurant, or similar hospitality setting.
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to remain calm and productive during busy service periods.
- Good communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to food quality and consistency.

Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
