Role: Senior Systems/Devops Engineer – VMware, Ansible & Terraform

About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer to support an enterprise infrastructure upgrade and migration initiative. You will help establish a new VMware environment, move existing testing workloads onto the new platform, and improve infrastructure provisioning through automation. This role suits an experienced engineer who can work across virtualisation, networking and DevOps tooling while resolving technical challenges in a complex enterprise environment.

What You'll Do

- Set up and prepare the new VMware infrastructure for application and testing workloads.
- Coordinate and execute virtual machine migrations, ensuring systems are ready for testing after transition.
- Configure network connectivity, DNS, IP allocation, storage and F5 load balancing.
- Automate infrastructure builds and configuration tasks using Terraform and Ansible.
- Manage automation workflows and maintain deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps.
- Troubleshoot issues across virtualisation, operating systems, networking and deployment processes.
- Work with platform,



infrastructure, application and testing teams to complete migration activities.
- Maintain deployment scripts, technical documentation and migration procedures. What We're Looking For
- Solid practical experience with Ansible Automation Platform or Ansible Tower .
- Hands-on skills in Terraform, Ansible and Azure DevOps pipelines .
- Good understanding of enterprise networking, including DNS, IPAM, VLANs, routing and firewalls.
- Experience with F5 load balancing and Infoblox, or comparable enterprise solutions.
- Scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Python or Bash.
- Experience using Git for infrastructure code and team-based development.
- Ability to investigate complex technical issues and deliver infrastructure changes independently. Nice to Have
- Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN or VMware Cloud Foundation.
- Exposure to VMware platform upgrades and virtual machine migrations.
- Familiarity with Azure, Docker, Kubernetes or AKS.
- Experience supporting performance testing environments or large-scale infrastructure transitions.
