Reporting to the Clinical Unit Coordinator, you will provide comprehensive clinical Exercise Physiology assessment, education, exercise prescription, and intervention for patients throughout their bariatric care journey. This role requires advanced knowledge of obesity as a chronic disease and expertise in prescribing safe, evidence-based exercise interventions for individuals with complex health needs. You will deliver services in both individual and group settings, using patient education, health promotion and behaviour change strategies to support sustainable lifestyle change. Working with patients undertaking intensive treatment pathways, including Very Low Energy Diets (VLEDs), obesity pharmacotherapy and bariatric surgery, you will tailor exercise recommendations to optimise clinical outcomes, improve function and support long-term health and wellbeing. You will also contribute to quality improvement activities and service development to ensure the delivery of contemporary, patient-centred care.
We are seeking a motivated clinician with excellent clinical reasoning, communication and behaviour change skills who is passionate about supporting individuals living with obesity. You will be confident working independently, managing complex clinical presentations, and building positive professional relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and service leaders to ensure seamless care delivery.
To be successful, you will have a minimum of three years' post-qualification experience, with five or more years highly regarded. Demonstrated experience in bariatric medicine, obesity management, chronic disease management, or related clinical settings will be highly advantageous. Experience delivering clinical exercise assessment and prescription across medical, pharmacological and surgical obesity treatment pathways is highly desirable.
If you are passionate about supporting people to achieve meaningful, lasting health outcomes and want to be part of an innovative and growing service, we encourage you to apply. Join us and make a real difference in the lives of our patients while advancing your career within a supportive and progressive healthcare team.
