About the role

You'll run the depot, the drivers and the customers. Hours are 6am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. There are occasional after-hours and Saturday calls, but we're automating these so only urgent matters come to you. You'll report to the owner with a short weekly update covering jobs, drivers, safety and customers, and suggest ways to improve how we work.

Key responsibilities

- Planning each day's work in the PumperDump app and allocating jobs to drivers

- Taking customer calls and bookings, and encouraging customers to use the app

- Organising collections and setting the next day's delivery runs

- Checking jobs and invoices, and approving drivers' timesheets

- Keeping safety and compliance up to date: SWMS, risk assessments, lifting register, truck and crane servicing, rego

- Ordering bins, parts and supplies, and handling breakdowns, incidents and complaints

- Leading and managing the team

- Covering for a driver when they're away

About you

- Heavy Rigid (HR) licence (essential)

- A vehicle loading crane licence (CV) is preferred, but training can be provided to the right candidate

- Experience in transport, logistics or construction operations, such as dispatch, scheduling or supervising drivers





- A former driver who has moved into dispatch or supervision would suit this role well

- Confident with customers on the phone, and comfortable saying no politely if required

- Organised, calm under pressure, and good at juggling a changing day

- Comfortable with apps and computers

- A working knowledge of WHS on construction sites; experience with concrete, waste or plant hire is a bonus

About us

PumperDump has been solving concrete washout waste on Sydney construction sites since 2002. We supply and service concrete washout units and blowback bins for builders and concrete pumpers and recycle the waste. Our customers include many of Australia's top-tier construction companies. We're a small team: three drivers, a yard, a water recycling plant, and our own PumperDump app for bookings, scheduling and deliveries. The owner is now focusing on expansion, and we need someone to run Sydney day to day.
