The Wonarah Phosphate Project represents a landmark greenfields mining development and will become the Northern Territory's first phosphate mine. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Mine Geologist to join the Technical Services team and lead site-based mine geology activities at the Wonarah Phosphate Project.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will oversee grade control, blast-hole chip sampling, QA/QC, geological data integrity, site laboratory performance, Grade Control Block Model updates, ore/waste delineation, reconciliation and JORC Resource reporting support.

The role will establish and manage fit-for-purpose geology systems for a shallow, flat-lying phosphate deposit mined using open pit strip-mining methods, while providing timely geological information to support mine scheduling, production control,



stockpile management and operational reporting.

ROSTER AND LOCATION

Applicants based in Darwin, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Brisbane, Townsville, Mt Isa and Cairns are particularly encouraged to apply.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage grade control, blast-hole chip sampling, QA/QC and data validation
- Define ore/waste boundaries, mining blocks, ore mark-ups and stockpile destinations
- Maintain geological data and update/validate the Grade Control Block Model
- Establish and manage the site sampling and assay laboratory
- Complete daily, monthly and project-to-date reconciliation; investigate ore loss, dilution and variances
- Support mine schedules, near-mine drilling, waste characterisation, drill and blast and JORC Resource reporting
- Support ground control and geotechnical monitoring
- Manage geology consultants, contractors, budgets and cost forecasting
- Lead, train and develop geology, pit technician and laboratory personnel

ABOUT YOU

- BSc in Earth Science, Geology or similar; membership such as AusIMM, AIG or GSA
- Significant Senior Mine Geologist experience with senior leadership exposure
- Knowledge of shallow flat-lying deposits, pit geology, sampling, reconciliation and strip-mining
- Resource data management and JORC reporting exposure
- Experience managing or establishing a site geology assay laboratory
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing consultants and contractors
- Strong commitment to safety, environment and community
- Full Australian work rights and current driver's licence
- Desirable: JORC sign-off, First Aid/Mine Rescue, Deswik/Alastri/SPRY and remote community experience
