We are seeking a passionate and engaging Science Teacher who can teach Science across Years 7 to 12 and contribute to the teaching of Marine and Maritime Studies.

This is an ongoing, full time position commencing at the beginning of Term 1, 2027.

Why teach Science at St George’s?

Our Science Department is a collaborative and enthusiastic team committed to strong relationships, high expectations, rigorous teaching practices and engaging practical learning.

This is a department where:

- Scientific curiosity is encouraged and celebrated.

The ability to teach Marine and Maritime Studies provides an exciting chance to connect classroom learning with Western Australia’s distinctive coastal and maritime environment. Our location in the Perth CBD also enables teachers to draw upon the city, the Swan River and the wider metropolitan coastline as rich contexts for scientific investigation and applied learning.

For a graduate teacher, this role offers the prospect to begin your career alongside experienced educators within a supportive and collaborative department.

For an experienced teacher, it provides the opportunity to bring your expertise to a growing Science Department, contribute new ideas, share best practices and help to shape the continuing development of Science at St George’s.

A new city campus

Science is taught at our new city campus at 441 Murray Street.

Our contemporary learning spaces provide an engaging environment in which students can investigate scientific concepts, undertake practical work and connect their learning with real-world applications. A full-time Science Laboratory Technician supports the Science Teaching Team.

At St George’s, we actively view the city as our campus. For a Science teacher, this creates opportunities to extend learning beyond the classroom and connect scientific concepts with the Swan River, local ecosystems, sustainable urban development, environmental management, engineering, technology and the maritime life of our city and State.
