Enjoy making things properly? We’d like to hear from you.
Plastifab produces custom plastic products for retail, signage, events and industrial applications. From display pieces and acrylic components to one-off custom builds, our work calls for practical thinking, accurate fabrication and a good eye for finish.
We’re looking for an experienced plastic fabricator who can work from drawings, plan the job and take pride in the finished result.
What you’ll be doing
- Making acrylic and other plastic products from drawings, sketches and job specifications.
- Measuring, cutting, drilling, routing, bending and assembling components.
- Solvent bonding and adhesive joining, with care taken over alignment and joint appearance.
- Polishing and finishing edges and surfaces.
- Checking dimensions, fit and finish throughout production.
- Planning material use to reduce waste and avoid unnecessary rework.
- Working with the team to resolve fabrication challenges and meet delivery dates.
- Using workshop equipment safely and keeping your work area organised.
What we’re looking for
- Practical experience in acrylic or plastic fabrication.
- Confidence reading drawings and taking accurate measurements.
- Good bonding,
assembly and finishing skills.
- The ability to complete jobs independently and contribute to a team.
- Reliability, clear communication and care for the quality of your work.
Acrylic fabrication experience is essential for this role. Training can be provided to develop additional skills.
CNC router or laser cutter experience would be useful, as would plastic welding skills. Please tell us which materials, machines and fabrication methods you have worked with.
Why join Plastifab?
- Diverse custom work, including one-off pieces and production runs.
- The opportunity to use your fabrication skills and contribute practical ideas.
- A role where workmanship and the finished product matter.
- Competitive pay based on experience, plus superannuation.
- Full-time employment at our Cheltenham workshop, with an immediate start.
- Training to build on your existing acrylic fabrication skills.
Interested?
Apply through SEEK with your resume and a brief outline of your fabrication experience. If you have photos of work you’re permitted to share, we’d be pleased to see them.
