We are partnering with a leading engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across Australia. Working with a portfolio of blue-chip clients across the commercial, residential and infrastructure sectors, the business offers exposure to complex, technically challenging and rewarding structural engineering projects.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Structural Engineer to join their Newcastle-based team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established structural engineer looking to take ownership of projects, contribute to technical outcomes and play a key role in the ongoing success of a growing engineering team.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the design and delivery of structural engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of building projects. Working closely with clients, architects, builders and multidisciplinary teams, you will bring your technical expertise and practical experience to deliver high-quality outcomes from concept through to construction.

The role offers the prospect to work on complex projects, take ownership of technical design and develop strong client relationships, with scope to influence project delivery and contribute to the wider business.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and undertake structural design and documentation for a range of building projects.
- Perform complex structural analysis and assessment of steel, concrete and other structural systems.
- Provide technical direction and engineering input across project delivery.
- Manage structural engineering projects, including design coordination, technical quality and project outcomes.




- Liaise directly with clients, architects, builders and other consultants.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, building codes and industry requirements.
- Provide technical advice and resolve engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Undertake site inspections, construction reviews and technical reporting as required.
- Contribute to the continued growth and technical capability of the business.

About You

- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Significant experience in structural engineering within the building industry.
- Demonstrated experience delivering structural design across commercial and/or residential projects.
- Strong technical capability across steel, concrete and other structural systems.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards, building codes and relevant design requirements.
- Proficient in structural analysis and design software.
- Proven ability to manage projects and take ownership of technical outcomes.
- Confident communicating with clients and managing key project stakeholders.
- Chartered status (CPEng) or working towards it will be highly regarded.

We are interested in speaking with experienced engineers operating at Senior or Principal level who enjoy the technical and project delivery aspects of structural engineering. Formal people management responsibilities are not a prerequisite for this opportunity.
