The Local Plate SA is seeking a qualified, experienced and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining consistent food standards and supporting the productive operation of our busy kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and develop menus, considering customer preferences, seasonal ingredients and dietary requirements.
Prepare, season and cook a variety of dishes to consistently high standards.
Monitor food quality, presentation and portion control.
Coordinate daily food preparation and kitchen operations.
Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain efficient workflow.
Manage stock levels, order ingredients and minimise food wastage.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.
Assist with food costing, inventory management and kitchen efficiency.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment and work areas.

Skills and Experience
Relevant commercial cookery qualification (Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent).




Minimum 3 years of relevant full-time work experience in a commercial kitchen.
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation and kitchen operations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
Sound understanding of Australian food safety and hygiene standards.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
