French Teacher
to join a leading independent school.
This role would suit an educator capable of teaching French across the secondary years, including
VCE French Units 1-4
.
The successful candidate will inspire students to develop confidence in speaking, reading and writing French while fostering a deep appreciation of Francophone cultures and global perspectives.
Students undertake a comprehensive language program with a strong emphasis on oral communication, cultural understanding and academic excellence.
The French program includes topics such as family and relationships, global youth issues, science and technology, immigration and multiculturalism, French music and cinema, health and wellbeing, media, future pathways and Francophone traditions.
Students benefit from regular interaction with native language assistants to strengthen their conversational skills and cultural understanding.
Key Responsibilities
Teach French across Years 7-12, including VCE.
Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and VCAA requirements.
Prepare students for oral and written assessments, including VCE examinations.




Differentiate learning to support a range of student abilities.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Contribute to the broader life of the school through co-curricular and pastoral programs.
About You
Relevant teaching qualifications and VIT registration (or eligibility).
Experience teaching French in a secondary school setting.
Ability to teach VCE French or willingness to develop senior teaching expertise.
Strong curriculum knowledge and assessment practices.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Passion for language learning and cultural education.
