About the Role
If you've recently qualified as a carpenter and want to move off the tools, this role turns your site knowledge into a career in estimating.
A privately-owned commercial and industrial builder in Ballarat needs a Bid Coordinator in its pre-construction team. You'll work on live tenders from day one, with coaching, and take on more packages and whole tenders as you develop.
Key Responsibilities
Use your site knowledge to review plans and specifications and develop trade scopes
Phone subcontractors and suppliers for pricing and build complete scopes
Compare quotes by trade and prepare comparison sheets
Prepare bills of quantities and tender pricing in costing software
Work with the pre-construction, design and project teams
Essential Requirements
Carpentry or related trade qualification, ideally recently completed, with site experience




Able to read plans and specifications and break work into trade scopes
Confident on the phone chasing and negotiating pricing
Solid Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Based in or near Ballarat, working in the Ballarat office 5 days a week
Desirable Extras
Certificate IV or Diploma of Building and Construction, completed or in progress
Estimating or construction software experience (helpful, not essential)
