Senior Business Analyst - General Insurance
About the Company
Our client is an established insurer that has recently launched in Australia, specialising in commercial insurance products. The local team is in a strong growth phase, with new products launching over the next 12 months. This is a newly created role to provide hands on support locally on the ground.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll be the link between local stakeholders across underwriting, claims, finance and operations and an offshore technology and business analysis team. You'll shape requirements for upcoming product launches and mentor a junior team member.

Duties / Key Responsibilities
Elicit, analyse and document business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, working with an offshore IT BA team to translate them into technical specifications
Facilitate workshops across business and technology teams and support prioritisation of the roadmap and backlog
Plan and support testing of system releases, including UAT, defect triage and post go-live hypercare
Liaise with offshore teams and technology vendors on change requests and release scope




Mentor a junior team member and embed change into BAU through updated procedures, process maps and training
Skills and Experience
Senior Business Analyst experience within general insurance, ideally commercial lines
Proven ability to translate business requirements into technology specifications
Experience supporting new product launches or operating model change
Exposure to underwriting, policy administration, claims and finance processes, with policy administration platform experience is required
Robust testing background, including UAT and defect management
Comfortable working autonomously and getting up to speed quickly
Flexibility to work across time zones, with occasional early or late calls to offshore teams around once or twice a week, and more around go-lives
Familiarity with Agile delivery and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps and Visio
