About the role
Stirling Montessori Early Learning Centre is seeking a 2IC/Room Leader to join our leadership team in a part-time capacity.
Based in Osborne Park, WA ****, this role is pivotal in supporting the Centre Director to ensure the smooth operation of our early learning facility and the delivery of high-quality Montessori education. As a 2IC/Room Leader, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our centre's standards, supporting staff development, and ensuring all children receive exceptional care and education aligned with our Montessori philosophy and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
What you'll do
Support the Centre Director with the daily management and smooth operation of the service.
Assist with enrolments, waitlists, family enquiries, tours, bookings and administrative tasks.
Support childcare management systems, attendance records, fee administration and family communications.
Assist with staff rostering, leave coordination, shift coverage and maintaining educator-to-child ratios.
Lead, mentor and support educators to deliver high-quality education and care.
Promote Montessori principles, independence, purposeful learning and respectful relationships.
Support curriculum planning, reflective practice and the implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
Maintain compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS) and relevant regulations.
Build strong, trusting partnerships with families and the local community.
Help maintain a safe,



organised and inviting learning environment.
Step into leadership responsibilities and support the Centre Director when required.
What we're looking for
A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or a higher recognised qualification.
Experience in an early childhood education and care setting, preferably in a leadership or administration role.
Sound knowledge of the EYLF, NQS, National Regulations and child protection requirements.
Strong organisational, administrative and time-management skills.
Confidence using childcare management systems and digital platforms.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and professional approach to families and educators.
The ability to take initiative, solve problems and manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
A collaborative leadership style and a genuine commitment to child safety and quality education.
A current WA Working With Children Check and the ability to meet all required pre-employment checks.
Experience with Montessori education is highly regarded but not necessary. We also welcome candidates who are passionate about learning and developing their understanding of Montessori philosophy.
