DescriptionDowner is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Water team and support the successful delivery of construction projects across South East Queensland.Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide technical expertise across the project lifecycle, helping plan, execute, monitor and control projects to achieve strong safety, quality, commercial and client outcomes.
You will work closely with project teams, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and clients, providing technical guidance and building collaborative relationships to deliver practical, value for money solutions.
Key responsibilities will include:Providing technical advice to project delivery and wider program teamsSupporting project planning, design reviews, constructability assessments and value engineeringMonitoring project performance, schedules, budgets, costs and forecastsManaging procurement activities, subcontractor engagement, progress claims and variationsDeveloping scopes of work and supporting subcontract agreementsManaging project risks, delays, extensions of time and contract variationsSupporting quality outcomes and ensuring projects meet client, community, environmental and legislative requirementsChampioning Zero Harm and ensuring appropriate safety standards, procedures and controls are implementedBuilding strong relationships and trust with clients, program stakeholders, suppliers and subcontractors What we're looking forTo be successful in this opportunity, you will bring:An Engineering qualification - Civil, Mechanical or Electrical More than three years of project engineering experience within the water or wastewater industry in South East QueenslandExperience managing subcontractors and developing scopes of workExperience developing subcontract agreementsDemonstrated financial management and reporting capability,



including budgetingDemonstrated experience developing and managing project schedulesA strong focus on achieving quality outcomes in project deliveryClear and concise communication skillsStrong organisational and time management skillsThe ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholdersStrong attention to detail and the ability to perform effectively in a changing, high pressure project environmentA genuine commitment to Zero Harm and secure project delivery What we offerAt Downer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to important water infrastructure projects while working with experienced professionals across engineering, construction and project delivery.You will join a collaborative team environment that values safety, strong relationships and high performance, with flexibility across office, site and home based work where appropriate.
