This role requires an individual who is highly motivated with a keen eye for detail and the ability to ‘look outside the box’. Your passion for construction and estimating processes will show through with the quality and accuracy of your work. You’ll have sound technical knowledge and be able to adapt to the diverse projects in our portfolio.

Advantageous to this role is 3 to 8 years of experience in the local market tendering education, health and a variety of commercial projects valued $20m to $100M, or at least 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a consultancy, working on commercial building projects. Exposure to education, health or other commercial projects valued at $20M–$100M will be advantageous. Consultancy QS applicants do not need prior builder-side tendering experience, but should demonstrate transferable skills in measurement, cost planning, trade package pricing and commercial risk assessment.

Relevant experience and capabilities include:

- Strong understanding of commercial building construction, cost planning, estimating principles,



methodologies and relevant building practices
- Ability to prepare or review detailed quantity take-offs, cost plans, trade packages and subcontractor quotations, and seek clarification where needed
- Ability to contribute to tender submissions, value management and post-tender reviews or negotiations; builder-side tender experience is advantageous for consultancy applicants
- Ability to build effective relationships with subcontractors, clients, consultants and internal project teams
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications
- Ability to understand and price risk and make recommendations in regards to contract cost and profitability
- Ability to review and understand contract terms and conditions
- Experience with CostX or comparable estimating/measurement software; familiarity with EstimateOne and MS Project is advantageous
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in completion of tender deliverables

A tertiary qualification in Construction Management / Quantity Surveying or similar is required.
