1st, 2nd or 3rd Year Landscape Construction Apprentice
Central Coast / Newcastle / Sydney | Full-time | Start ASAP

The Opportunity
Want a trade where you can work outdoors, build real projects and see the results of your work at the end of the day?

CCGT is looking for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd Year Landscape Construction Apprentice to join a crew working across major commercial landscaping projects throughout the Central Coast, Newcastle and Sydney.

You’ll work on large-scale sites including schools, retirement villages and other commercial projects, building practical skills across landscaping and construction while continuing toward your trade qualification.

You will be employed by CCGT and placed with the Host Employer for your day-to-day work. CCGT will support you throughout your apprenticeship while you complete a nationally recognised Certificate III in Landscape Construction.

This is a full time role working 38 hours per week, generally 7:00am to 3:30pm, with overtime available when required.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing
You’ll be working alongside experienced tradespeople and learning how commercial landscape construction projects come together from the ground up.

As your skills grow, you’ll continue learning how to:

- Assist with site preparation and formwork
- Plant trees, shrubs and garden beds
- Lay turf and establish lawn areas
- Assist with deck construction
- Install irrigation systems
- Use hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely
- Support qualified tradespeople across different stages of a project
- Keep worksites clean, safe and organised
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures
- Work across a variety of commercial sites and project types

This is a physically active role involving outdoor work, manual handling and heavy lifting. You won’t be expected to know everything, but you will need to be ready to listen, ask questions and keep building your skills.

Why This Is a Good Place to Start
You’ll gain experience across a wide variety of commercial landscape construction projects, giving you exposure to more than just one type of work.

You’ll benefit from:

- Hands-on experience on major commercial landscaping projects
- Exposure to schools, retirement villages and other large sites
- Training alongside experienced tradespeople
- Paid full-time employment
- Overtime opportunities
- A uniform provided
- On-the-job training while completing your qualification
- Regular mentoring, guidance and support from CCGT
- Experience across multiple locations and project types

After your apprenticeship, career pathways may include Qualified Landscape Construction Tradesperson, Landscaper, Irrigation Installer, Leading Hand, Site Supervisor or Landscape Construction Supervisor.

What We’re Looking For This role could suit you if you:

- Are currently a 1st, 2nd or 3rd Year Landscape Construction Apprentice
- Enjoy outdoor, practical and hands-on work
- Are reliable, punctual and willing to learn
- Work well as part of a team
- Are comfortable with physical work and heavy lifting

- Can work in a fast-paced professional environment
- Hold a current driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle
- Hold a White Card
- Are willing to complete a Working With Children Check if required for school sites
- Are willing to complete a criminal history check
- Are willing to work overtime when required

Pay
This is a paid, full-time apprenticeship. Current apprentice rates are:
