Laboratory Assistant in Specimen Reception

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our Pathology team in Sample Reception and Processing. This is a critical role in the diagnostic testing process, ensuring specimens are received, sorted, and prepared for laboratory analysis with precision and care.

You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and accuracy is vital. This role is perfect for someone who is organised, adaptable, and committed to supporting high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

- Receive and accurately log pathology samples upon arrival
- Sort and label specimens according to strict protocols
- Prepare samples for transport or internal laboratory analysis
- Maintain specimen integrity and ensure correct handling
- Liaise with couriers, collection staff, and lab personnel
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient work environment

Key Requirements

- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills




- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast paced work environment
- Comfortable working with biological samples
- Previous experience in a pathology or healthcare setting is highly regarded but not essential
- Work diverse shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays with the availability of minimum 4 days a week to max 38 hours a week

Experience in a similar role is desirable, however not essential as training will be provided to the right candidate.
