As a key member of the Power and Energy team, you will oversee HV projects from inception to completion, including design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and energisation. The scope of work includes transmission and distribution connections, HV substations, transformers, switchgear, transmission lines, cables, contestable works, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and other associated electrical infrastructure.
You will work closely with internal teams, external contractors, and network service providers to ensure the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of HV infrastructure.

- Develop and manage integrated project programmes, covering engineering, procurement, long-lead equipment, construction, testing, network interfaces, and energisation.
- Oversee scope, programme, cost, risk, quality, and change management to ensure alignment with the overall data centre programme.
EPC and Contractor Management
- Manage the procurement and performance of HV EPC contractors and specialist partners, including preparing scopes, tender documents, commercial evaluations, and award recommendations.

- Partner with the Grid Connection Manager to ensure connection requirements, performance standards, and grid studies are incorporated into execution.
- Coordinate with Network Service Providers (NSPs), contestable works providers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and internal teams to resolve issues and decisions efficiently.
Commissioning and Energisation
- Own the testing, commissioning, and energisation programme, including milestones, hold points, and completion requirements.
- Facilitate collaboration among EPCs, NSPs, OEMs, and internal teams to ensure energisation readiness.
- Ensure documentation, test records, defect resolutions, and approvals are completed, and hand over assets to Operations with training, spares, and readiness in place.
Governance, Safety, and Risk
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure contractors comply with company standards, legislation, and network requirements.
- Maintain risk, issue, change, and decision registers, and provide clear reporting to senior leadership.
- Capture lessons learned to standardise and improve future HV projects.
Qualifications Essential
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 10+ years of experience delivering major electrical, transmission, renewables, utility, or infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record in delivering HV substations and associated electrical infrastructure.
- Experience managing EPC contractors and major construction packages through to commissioning and energisation.
- Strong project controls, commercial, risk, and contract management skills.
- Ability to manage complex interfaces and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
- Flexibility to work around key construction and energisation activities in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment.
Desirable
- Experience delivering 132kV to 330kV or higher voltage infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Australian Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSPs), Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSPs), and contestable HV works.
- Experience in hyperscale data centres or large industrial load projects.
- Exposure to BESS and renewable energy projects.
- Familiarity with ECI to EPC delivery models.
- PMP, AIPM, or equivalent accreditation.
Day-to-Day
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of HV infrastructure projects.
- Manage and coordinate with EPC contractors, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and risks, ensuring alignment with overall programme goals.
- Lead commissioning and energisation activities, ensuring all milestones and safety standards are met.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership.

- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Exposure to cutting-edge HV infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
- Professional development opportunities, including potential for international travel.
- A collaborative and inclusive work workplace that values diversity and innovation.
