We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Design Engineer/Manager to lead full-lifecycle design and engineering for industrial, commercial, and mixed-use projects across Australia. The primary focus is Electrical Engineering and Design for Industrial Buildings, with a particular emphasis on large-scale warehouse, distribution centre, fulfilment centre, and logistics hub developments. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in warehouse electrical systems, proven competency in Australian codes and standards including current Australian Standards and the NCC/BCA, robust design leadership, cross-disciplinary coordination capability, and a track record of delivering compliant, high-quality engineering documentation from concept through construction.

Key responsibilities

- Design high-voltage substations (11 kV/33 kV), zone reticulation networks, and transformer installations with appropriate redundancy, and carry out protection relay coordination and liaison with Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSPs)
- Size and detail main switchboards, sub-main distribution boards, and motor control centres, and undertake cable sizing and derating calculations in accordance with applicable Australian electrical standards
- Calculate maximum demand and design motor control centres including DOL, soft-starter, and VSD configurations, and perform load flow and harmonic analysis using industry tools such as ETAP or PowerFactory
- Design diesel generator sets, online UPS systems, and automatic transfer switching arrangements to meet essential services requirements under the NCC/BCA
- Develop industrial lighting designs for warehouse, distribution centre, and fulfilment centre environments, including high-bay warehouse lighting layouts and aisle-by-aisle lux level calculations
- Design earthing and bonding systems and lightning protection installations,



and classify hazardous areas and select explosion-protected equipment in accordance with relevant Australian standards
- Design warehouse power distribution systems including dock leveller power supplies, conveyor and ASRS power feeds, forklift charging bays, EV charging infrastructure, and GPO layouts
- Author and maintain electrical design standards, technical specifications, and engineering guidelines specifically for warehouse, distribution centre, fulfilment centre, and logistics hub projects
- Prepare detailed electrical equipment specifications for switchboards, transformers, generators, UPS systems, lighting, and cable management systems
- Lead 3D clash detection and multi-discipline MEP coordination using Revit MEP, Navisworks, and BIM 360/ACC

- Experience with HV/MV power systems design and protection relay coordination
- Experience with load flow and harmonic analysis using industry tools such as ETAP or PowerFactory
- Experience designing emergency and standby power systems
- Experience with BMS/IBMS architecture using open-protocol platforms and SCADA/HMI integration
- Experience with 3D clash detection and multi-discipline MEP coordination using Revit MEP, Navisworks, and BIM 360/ACC
