The Chance

McArthur has partnered with Doable, a progressive disability support organisation committed to delivering person-centred support and empowering people to live ordinary lives and create more meaningful futures. We are seeking an experienced Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening Doable's approach to workplace health, safety and wellbeing.

You'll work across frontline services and head office, partnering with leaders on risk management, incident investigations, return-to-work matters and safety initiatives while identifying trends and driving continuous improvement. This is a hands-on, relationship-driven opportunity to build leadership capability, influence positive change and embed a proactive safety culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safety Systems & Risk: Maintain and improve safety systems through risk assessments, audits, policy reviews and safety data analysis.
- Incident Management: Support incident investigations, analyse trends and guide leaders on trauma-informed responses.
- Safety Culture & Capability: Build safety awareness and accountability through leadership coaching and training initiatives.
- Return to Work: Guide return-to-work planning, suitable duties and complex cases, promoting early intervention.




- OHS Committee & Compliance: Lead the OHS Committee, provide compliance guidance, prepare reports and liaise with regulators.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop emergency response plans, build team readiness and review procedures across all locations.
- Workplace Safety & Inspections: Conduct workplace inspections, support risk management and maintain compliant safety records and communications.

About You:

- Demonstrated experience within the disability sector, with a strong understanding of service delivery environments, Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).
- A sound understanding of occupational health and safety, risk management and relevant legislation, including WorkCover requirements and the NDIS framework.
- Proven experience leading incident investigations, managing return-to-work processes and overseeing workplace safety systems, policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret safety data, recognise trends and translate findings into practical recommendations.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach, with a genuine willingness to be visible and engaged across frontline services rather than operating solely from behind a desk.
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications.

Successful applicants must hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Check, have completed the NDIS Worker Orientation Module and hold a Driver's License.
