About the Opportunity

Maxima is seeking 2–3 enthusiastic and capable Duty Managers to join the team at The ARC Campbelltown.

This is an excellent opportunity for highly experienced Pool Lifeguards or Duty Managers who are ready to take on greater leadership responsibility in a busy aquatic and recreation workplace.

The ARC Campbelltown is a modern community facility offering aquatic, fitness, sports and recreation programs and services. This is a Level 6

As a Duty Manager, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of the Centre, providing leadership to staff, overseeing aquatic and facility operations and ensuring a positive experience for members and visitors.

About the Role Reporting to the Team Leader – Aquatics, Recreation and Facilities, you will be responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day operations and maintaining high standards of safety, service and facility presentation.

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide leadership, direction and support to Lifeguards and other Centre staff during shifts.
- Oversee aquatic and facility operations, ensuring safety procedures and supervision standards are maintained.
- Respond to incidents, emergencies and operational issues, taking appropriate action and ensuring accurate reporting.
- Manage customer enquiries, complaints and escalated matters professionally.
- Monitor pool water quality, plant and equipment to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements.
- Coordinate daily facility checks, program setups and operational requirements.
- Assist with staffing coverage, shift coordination and operational handovers.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming and well‑presented environment for members and visitors.




- Provide operational support and relief coverage across key Centre functions when required.

About You

We are looking for individuals who are confident, proactive and capable of leading a team in a busy aquatic environment.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

- A minimum of 12 months' experience as a Duty Manager in a recreational setting preferred
- Strong leadership skills and the confidence to provide direction to staff.
- Sound knowledge of aquatic supervision, safety and emergency response procedures.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills.
- The ability to make sound decisions and remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive approach to maintaining safety, compliance and operational standards.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A professional, reliable and team‑focused approach.

Previous experience supervising staff or coordinating aquatic facility operations will be highly regarded.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold the following current qualifications or clearances:

- Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Clearance
- Child Safe Environments Training (RRHAN‑EC)
- Pool Operator Certificate

Food Safety Certification is also required, or applicants must be willing to obtain it.

Hours of Work

These are casual Level 7 positions under the Local Government Industry Award 2020, with shifts allocated according to operational requirements.

The ARC operates seven days per week, and applicants must have flexibility to work across early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
