Who We Are

We’re Locale, a proud part of the Symal Group, providing plant, equipment and logistics support that keeps projects moving. Our team plays a critical role behind the scenes, ensuring our people have the resources, equipment and materials they need to deliver exceptional project outcomes.

We innovate with intent, solve problems collaboratively and take pride in supporting the delivery of major infrastructure and construction projects.

It’s not just what we do that defines us, it’s how we do it, building better together.

The role

We’re looking for a highly organised Assets & Personnel Coordinator to support the efficient allocation of plant, equipment and labour across our projects.

Working within our Assets and Logistics team, you’ll coordinate day-to-day asset movements, transport, wet and dry hire, labour requirements and inventory. You’ll be an important link between project teams, operators, drivers, suppliers and internal support functions, making sure the right resources arrive at the right place, at the right time and with the correct compliance documentation.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on coordination role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, managing competing priorities and keeping operations running smoothly.

Your impact

As our Assets & Personnel Coordinator, you’ll:

- Coordinate the allocation and movement of plant, equipment and other assets across projects.
- Maintain accurate records of asset locations, utilisation and project allocations.
- Arrange transport and plan suitable journeys and routes, considering timing, access and site requirements.
- Coordinate wet and dry hire when internal resources cannot meet project needs.
- Manage rostering for blue-collar employees and coordinate labour hire requirements.
- Ensure employees, operators, subcontractors and equipment meet relevant site, licence, induction and safety requirements.
- Support workforce mobilisation, including PPE, inductions, onboarding, flights and accommodation.
- Build robust relationships with project teams, drivers, suppliers, subcontractors and clients.
- Review supplier rates, contracts, compliance documentation and invoices.
- Prepare weekly asset and labour allocation reports and monthly internal charging reports.
- Monitor inventory levels and source suitable equipment and materials.
- Identify and escalate breakdowns, delays or resourcing issues that could impact project delivery.
- Support compliance with Chain of Responsibility, Heavy Vehicle National Law, fatigue management, mass, dimension, speed and load-restraint requirements.

About you

You’ll bring

- Experience in logistics, asset coordination, plant hire, workforce coordination or construction operations.
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities.
- Experience coordinating plant, equipment, transport, labour or subcontractors.
- An understanding of construction workflows and site requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence maintaining accurate compliance and inventory records.
- The ability to communicate effectively with project managers, supervisors, operators, drivers and suppliers.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to resourcing and logistical challenges.
- Confidence using asset management systems, project tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- An understanding of safety and compliance requirements relating to heavy vehicles, plant and equipment.
- Commercial awareness when dealing with suppliers, hire arrangements, rates and invoices.

A qualification in logistics, supply chain management,

construction management, business administration or a related discipline would be advantageous.

Ready for your next move?

There’s something rewarding about keeping a busy construction workforce moving. If you want a role where getting the right people to the right sites — safely, compliantly and on time — directly shapes how projects perform, this could be the step your career has been waiting for.

About The Opportunity

You’d be joining an established construction business that has been delivering projects across the country for decades, working both as a principal contractor and as a delivery partner on complex builds. With large crews of tradespeople and labourers active across multiple sites, and backed by the resources of a national construction group, this is a business where strong workforce coordination genuinely matters.

The role

This role is all about people. Partnering closely with project teams, site supervisors and operational leaders, you’ll make sure the workforce is planned, mobilised and supported so that crews turn up ready, compliant and set up to do their best work. From onboarding new starters and booking travel to tracking tickets and keeping rosters tight, you’ll be the go-to person holding the workforce side of operations together — with equipment and transport playing a supporting part along the way.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Coordinate labour across multiple projects — planning crew numbers, allocating personnel and keeping rosters aligned to what each site needs.
- Own the end-to-end mobilisation of the workforce, from onboarding and inductions through to demobilisation as projects wind down.
- Organise site-specific inductions and make sure every worker is cleared and ready before they set foot on site.
- Track tickets, licences, competencies and certifications, flagging renewals early so no one is caught non-compliant.
- Arrange accommodation and travel for crews working away from home, keeping arrangements smooth and cost aware.
- Work hand in hand with subcontractors and labour-hire providers to fill roles quickly and reliably.
- Support project and site teams with workforce planning, forecasting upcoming labour demand and resourcing gaps.
- Maintain accurate personnel records, workforce documentation and compliance systems.
- Be a first point of contact for workforce queries, helping crews and supervisors resolve day-to-day people issues.
- Provide light coordination of plant, equipment and transport where it supports getting the workforce where it needs to be.
- Spot resourcing pressures or compliance risks early and escalate them before they affect site delivery.

About you?

- A background in workforce coordination, labour hire, mobilisation, rostering or a similar people-focused operational role.
- Familiarity with construction site requirements — inductions, tickets, licences and worker compliance.
- The ability to stay organised and comfortably juggle competing priorities and a lot of moving people.
- Confident, approachable communication and a real talent for dealing with tradespeople, subbies and supervisors alike.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to solving problems and keeping crews moving.
- A sharp eye for detail and a genuine commitment to compliance and record-keeping.
- Comfort working across Microsoft Office and workforce, rostering or operational management systems.
- A safety-first mindset and an appetite for continuous improvement.

Why you’ll want to join Good work depends on good people — problem solvers, bold thinkers and genuinely decent humans. If that sounds like you, and you’re after a supportive team and a clear path to progress, you’ll find plenty of reasons to build your career here:

- Room to grow: access to varied, challenging and future-shaping projects that broaden your experience and move your career forward.
- Real development: tailored programs spanning early-career support, specialist learning and leadership pathways — your progress follows your own direction.
- Wellbeing that counts: wellness benefits, discounted health cover, a perks and rewards platform, and a leading employee assistance program for whenever you need it.
- A connected team: contemporary work and breakout spaces (snacks included), plus a busy social calendar built to connect, celebrate and reward our people.

Inclusion drives us forward A diversity of perspectives is what keeps us moving. Our inclusion initiatives are designed to open doors for people who may not see an obvious route into construction — supporting women to build lasting careers in the industry, helping veterans transition into new roles, and creating meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Wherever you’re starting from, we want you to build a future where you belong. We warmly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, veterans, and people from all cultural backgrounds and life experiences.
