About the Role

Curtin University is seeking a team-oriented and creative Coordinator, Co-curricular Development to champion high-quality co-curricular participation and development across the University.

You’ll work with students, staff and partners to strengthen the quality, reach and impact of co-curricular opportunities, with a particular focus on improving equitable participation for students from low socioeconomic status (LSES) backgrounds and First Nations students. Through this work, you’ll help students make the most of experiences that enrich their studies and strengthen their graduate outcomes.

A key focus of the role is Curtin Extra, our framework for enhancing students’ co-curricular learning and recognising their participation and achievements. You’ll help students understand and articulate the skills they develop through these experiences, while supporting quality programs and effective governance across Curtin.

Your responsibilities will include

- Coordinate the growth, delivery, governance and evaluation of the Curtin Extra framework and support high-quality co-curricular programs across Curtin.
- Help students recognise and articulate the skills and capabilities they develop through co-curricular participation.
- Partner with university teams, students and external organisations to expand equitable access to high-quality co-curricular opportunities, particularly for underrepresented student groups.
- Build awareness of Curtin Extra through advocacy, presentations, training, resources and promotional initiatives.
- Support effective governance, data systems, participation records, compliance, evaluation and recognition processes.
- Use student engagement data and program evaluation to identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen student and graduate outcomes.

SELECTION CRITERIA You are a relationship-focused program coordinator who enjoys bringing people together, developing new ideas and translating them into meaningful student experiences. You balance creativity with strong organisation and sound governance.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

- A relevant qualification with considerable relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and delivering effective programs or services.
- Ability to develop and implement processes and strategies that improve quality and outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence and build cooperation across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Excellent organisational skills, with experience coordinating people and events, prioritising work and using initiative.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to contribute effectively within a busy, collaborative and culturally diverse team.
- Confidence using multiple systems, CRM platforms and reporting tools.

Competence in using databases, student management systems and digital platforms, together with an understanding of student engagement, equity and inclusion in higher education, would be highly regarded.

Role Requirements

1. As this is a continuing (permanent) role, applicants require permanent working rights in Australia to be considered.
2. Successful applicants are subject to a criminal record check and relevant background, integrity and reference checks in accordance with University requirements.
3. The role may require work outside normal office hours.

Your new Team:

- Student Life and Community

Based within Student Life and Community, you’ll contribute to Curtin’s student success and community development priorities.
