Industrial Hydraulics Pty Ltd – Lawnton QLD

We are an established hydraulic, refuelling, and lubrication equipment specialist based in Lawnton (www.industrialhyd.com.au), supplying and servicing customers across South East Queensland and nationwide.

We are seeking an experienced, trade-qualified Hydraulic Fitter or Fitter & Turner to join our busy team. This role covers a practical mix of workshop component assembly, repairs, precision machining, and scheduled in office installation and maintenance work across our service region.

We actively promote and support a genuine work-life balance. We run on a standard Monday to Friday day-shift roster and are not a 24/7 emergency breakdown or call-out hose van operation. While occasional overtime is available when project workloads require it, overtime is kept strictly sensible and minimal, allowing you to plan your home and personal life with certainty.

Key Responsibilities

- Hydraulic Maintenance & Assembly: Overhaul, assemble, test, and commission hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, and grease lube systems.
- Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic faults in workshop and site environments.
- Schematics & Drawings: Read and interpret complex hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
- Hose Assemblies: Manufacture and pressure-test hydraulic hose assemblies to safety standards.
- Apprentice Mentoring: Support, guide, and mentor our first-year apprentice,



passing on practical trade skills on the floor.
- Safety & Standards: Maintain a safe, clean working environment in strict adherence to WHS guidelines and quality standards.

Skills & Experience

Australian Trade Qualification (Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering / Fitter & Turner, Hydraulic Fitter, or equivalent).

Demonstrated hands‑on experience with industrial or mobile hydraulic systems and component fitting.

Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to read and interpret complex hydraulic schematics.

Professional attitude for handling both workshop tasks and on‑site installation/repair work.

Current Driver’s Licence (Forklift ticket highly regarded or willingness to obtain).

A positive, approachable attitude and a willingness to help guide our apprentice.
