About the Role
Are you the person people turn to when they need answers, guidance or help getting things sorted? Do you enjoy building positive relationships, navigating competing priorities and being the person who keeps things moving?
As our People, Safety and Culture Administration Officer, you'll be a trusted first point of contact for employees and people leaders across The Gordon. You'll help colleagues navigate people processes, provide responsive support and ensure enquiries are managed efficiently, using your judgement to triage and elevate matters when needed. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will build trusted relationships and quickly become a go-to source of support within the People and Culture team.
You will be joining a collaborative and supportive People and Culture team where trust, professionalism and confidentiality are part of everyday practice. As a close-knit team within a broader multidisciplinary function, everyone contributes proactively, shares knowledge and steps in to support one another. As an educational institution, continuous learning is part of who we are, creating opportunities to build your capability,
broaden your knowledge and continue developing your career.
With a steady flow of activity and competing priorities, you will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact through the delivery of high-quality people support services. You will bring strong judgement, attention to detail and the agility to move seamlessly between priorities, systems and stakeholders throughout the day.
Some key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Act as a key contact for People and Culture enquiries, providing support, guidance and appropriate escalation where appropriate.
- Prepare and manage employment documentation, including contracts, variations and flexible work arrangements.
- Maintain accurate employee records and position data within people systems.
- Coordinate and support employee compliance activities, including employment checks and legislative requirements.
- Build positive working relationships across the organisation while delivering responsive and customer-focused service.
- Contribute ideas and initiatives which enhance efficiency and support continuous improvement.
Flexible work arrangements are available,
and we would consider a part‑time arrangement of up to 0.8 FTE for the right person.
Availability to work across both our Geelong City and our East Geelong campuses will be required.
