We are looking for a kind, patient and reliable Personal Assistant to support our cheerful 17-year-old son, who has cerebral palsy, autism and learning disabilities.

He is able to walk independently and has a happy personality. He enjoys swimming and would benefit from having someone to spend time with him, enjoy activities together and support him in accessing the community safely.

Due to limited awareness of danger, he requires continuous one-to-one supervision, particularly when out and about.

Duties include:

- Other relevant duties as required

- Companionship

- Provide companionship and supervision at home

- Accompany him on outings and leisure activities, especially swimming

- Support him to enjoy activities safely and positively

- Help him access the community and participate in activities he enjoys

- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality

- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

- Hygienic, tidy and well organised

- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

- Honest and cheerful

- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Notes:
