We are seeking to establish a pool of Mainstream Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. Nollamara Primary School (PS) is located approximately seven kilometres north of the Perth Central Business District in Western Australia and is part of the North Metropolitan Education Region. The school was built in 1956 and introduced an Intensive English Centre (IEC) in 2005. Nollamara PS is a Level 4 school with a student enrolment of around 440 students and caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. At Nollamara, we are committed to high-quality, inclusive education and creating a welcoming, culturally responsive setting where studenfeel safe, connected and ready to learn. Nollamara PS staff provide a safe, supportive and consistent learning environment for students by embracing evidence-based pedagogies across teaching and behaviour management. With Positive Behaviour Support as a school-wide strategy our students are explicitly taught our REACH goals of Respect; Excellence; Acceptance; Compassion and Honesty. All staff have been coached in Explicit Direct Instruction to ensure high standards in the delivery of literacy and numeracy programs. With 80% of our students across the school having a first language other than English,
we cater for students who hold both permanent and temporary residence status. Staff acknowledge the value of the wider community and promote meaningful relationships and partnership to enrich the school culture. The Role
We are looking for passionate Mainstream Education Assistants who bring energy, initiative and a genuine commitment to helping young children thrive. Our Education Assistants work alongside teachers to create engaging, inclusive and language-rich learning environments where every child is known, valued and supported. Our Kindergarten and Pre-primary programs place a strong emphasis on oral language development, early literacy, play-based learning and positive relationships. Positions may be available in the Early Childhood Education classrooms. Our children enter school with a wide range of experiences, strengths and language backgrounds. We therefore value Education Assistants who are patient, responsive and confident supporting children who may be developing English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D).
We are particularly interested in Education Assistants who possess good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group programs. Applicants will ideally be well organised and able to use initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment by maintaining equipment, materials and resources, for use in classes. Additionally, suitable applicants will assist with displays and with cleaning/safe storage of items after classes and activities.
Equity and Diversity
We are committed to an inclusive and culturally responsive workforce reflecting the diversity in our schools and the Western Australian community. We welcome and encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, young people, people of diverse sexualities and genders, people with disability, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
