Position Information

Charlestown Public School is a caring and nurturing primary school in the Wiyellai Koa Community of Practice, located in the greater Charlestown area. With an enrolment of 237, including 14% Aboriginal students and 25% students from a language background other than English, our school values diversity and inclusion. Our professional staff uphold high standards and teaching excellence, delivering explicit instruction and strong programs in literacy and numeracy and High Potential and Gifted Education. Specific Selection Criteria





Approval to teach Infants and Primary with demonstrated ability to implement evidence-informed teaching strategies in literacy and numeracy, drawing on student data to improve learning outcomes for diverse learners, including Aboriginal and EAL/D students.

Experience in creating an inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement, wellbeing, belonging and high expectations.

Demonstrated experience in collaborating effectively within a dynamic team to build strong partnerships with families, colleagues, external services and the wider school community to support and enrich student learning.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
