Every Structure Starts With a Survey. Start Your Career With One Too.
Before a single bucket of earth is moved on a construction site, a surveyor has already been there — establishing control networks, mapping terrain and setting out designs. Without accurate survey data, nothing gets built correctly.
As a Graduate Surveyor or Spatial Scientist with Winslow, you’ll join a 100+ strong team of spatial professionals using advanced tools such as total stations, GNSS receivers, RPAS (drones), LiDAR and machine control systems.
This is a field-based role where your work directly drives construction outcomes and engineering decisions.
About Winslow’s Surveying & Digital Engineering Team
“We’re with you all the way through the planning and delivery phases of your project.”
Winslow’s surveying team has grown significantly in recent years and operates across multiple states, supporting both public and private sector clients.
The team is recognised for innovation, investing in technologies such as augmented reality, 3D/4D modelling and advanced drone platforms.
The Technology You’ll Work With
Construction & Cadastral Survey
Total stations, GNSS/RTK receivers and robotic instruments for control networks, set-out and conformance surveys.
Machine Control Systems
Digital terrain models used to guide automated construction equipment.
RPAS / Drone Operations
Drone platforms for mapping, monitoring, volumetric surveys and environmental data collection.
Digital Engineering & Modelling
3D/4D modelling, photogrammetry, clash detection and advanced data processing tools.
Industries You’ll Work Across
- Civil construction (roads, subdivisions, utilities)
- Energy and mining (solar farms, earthworks)
- Environmental and maritime (mapping, surveys, monitoring)
What Your Day Actually Looks Like
This is a hands-on, field-based role:
- Establish and maintain survey control networks
- Set out construction elements from design models
- Conduct conformance and as-built surveys
- Prepare digital terrain models for machine controlOperate drones for mapping and monitoring
- Process survey data and coordinate with project teams
- Perform feature, level and cadastral surveys
- Support utility mapping and risk reduction
- Contribute to digital modelling and visualisation
Your Career Pathway
PHASE 1 - Instruments & Fieldwork
Develop core surveying skills and gain hands-on experience on site.
PHASE 2 - Technology & Independence
Expand into machine control, drones and digital modelling while managing tasks independently.
PHASE 3 - Project Survey Management
Lead survey programs and coordinate with project teams across full project lifecycles.
