Certificate II Electrotechnology Trainer & Assessor
Major Training Group is looking for an experienced Certificate II Electrotechnology Trainer & Assessor who is passionate about developing the next generation of electrical apprentices.
Our Certificate II programs are primarily delivered to school-aged students and people exploring a pathway into the electrical industry. For many students, this is their first real introduction to the trade, so we need trainers who can make that experience practical, engaging and relevant while setting strong expectations around safety, attendance and work ethic.

About the role
As a Certificate II Electrotechnology Trainer & Assessor, you will:
- Deliver engaging face-to-face theory and practical training.
- Provide meaningful, hands‑on practical activities throughout the program.

- Bring your own industry knowledge and real-world experience into the classroom.
- Support students with different learning styles and levels of experience.
- Maintain accurate attendance, assessment and training records.
- Reinforce expectations around PPE, safety, behaviour and workplace readiness.
- Help students understand the electrical industry and prepare for progression into an electrical apprenticeship.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with students and understands that good training is about more than simply getting through the course content.
Ideally, you will have:
- A relevant electrical trade qualification and strong industry experience.
- A current electrical licence or relevant industry credentials.
- A TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or an equivalent recognised training and assessment qualification.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Confidence delivering both theory and practical activities.
- The ability to explain technical concepts in a way that younger learners can understand.
- A practical, hands‑on approach to training.
- A strong commitment to electrical safety and quality training.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can engage students, challenge them and make them want to be involved.
