Assistant Director OSHC - Part time Replacement

As the OSHC Assistant Director, you will:

Support the day-to-day operations of the OSHC and Vacation Care service, fostering a safe, welcoming and inclusive workplace where every child is valued and supported.

Assist with rostering, enrolments, administration and compliance requirements, ensuring services operate with professionalism, accountability and excellence.

Build authentic and respectful relationships with children, families, staff and the wider community, reflecting the Mercy values of hospitality, compassion and service.

Support staff wellbeing, professional growth and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the quality of care and learning experiences.

Uphold and model the vision, mission and values of the College, acting in the Director's capacity when required and authorised.

Key responsibilities

Operating with a high degree of autonomy and initiative while supporting the strategic and operational objectives of the service

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and the National Quality Standard

Conduct internal audits and contribute to continuous improvement processes

Manage staff rosters in accordance with child-to-staff ratio requirements

Oversee food provision and hygiene practices in line with Healthy Eating Guidelines and regulatory standards

Contribute to the development and review of service policies, procedures and operational strategies

Lead the implementation and evaluation of quality recreation and leisure programs aligned with the My Time, Our Place Framework

Provide guidance and support to educators to deliver inclusive, responsive programs that extend children's participation, interests, strengths and developmental needs

Lead, mentor and support staff through induction, professional learning and performance development to build capability and foster high-quality practice





About you

Demonstrated leadership experience in OSHC and/or Vacation Care, including staff supervision and support

Experience planning, implementing and evaluating engaging, developmentally appropriate programs that support children's learning, wellbeing and inclusion

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively

Experience in administrative, financial and marketing functions, including reporting and funding submissions

Proven ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement and contribute to continuous improvement

High-level digital literacy and proficiency in relevant systems and technologies

An approved qualification for educators working with over preschool age children in accordance with regulation 137(2)(c) of the Education and Care Services National Regulations

Current Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID012) Certificate

Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) Certificate
