Senior Procurement Manager

Project overview

The £80 million upgrade of Slough Sewage Treatment Works for Thames Water will be carried out by Ferrovial Construction and Cadagua, working together as a joint venture. This project aims to improve the resilience and sustainability of Slough STW, ensuring it meets tougher Environment Agency standards and achieves better environmental performance. Improvements include expanded treatment capacity, advanced systems for removing ammonia and phosphorus,



upgraded storm-flow management, and robust new power infrastructure. The partnership combines Ferrovial Construction’s expertise in UK infrastructure projects with Cadagua’s broad experience in international water treatment.

Role purpose

Manage procurement activities for the Slough project, coordinating tendering, bid evaluation and subcontract documentation with the design, construction, commercial and planning teams, and preparing package recommendations for the JV and Thames.

Key responsibilities

Procurement strategy and coordination

- Work collaboratively with the design and construction teams to coordinate procurement activities.
- Liaise with Thames commercial representatives on the objectives and requirements of SAF 1 and 2.
- Participate in JV meetings to discuss procurement strategy and chair a weekly procurement meeting and maintain Master Procurement Plan for the Project, and for reporting to Thames.
- Coordinate with the mechanical and electrical (M&E;), civils and relevant teams to achieve a consistent approach where possible and in line with the procurement governance of the Project.
- Liaise with JV planners on programme requirements and associated time documentation.

Tender preparation and administration

- Administer prequalification and tender processes, including correspondence with selected supply chain bidders.
- Prepare the list of proposed tenderers from the appropriate source (Framework, core supply chain, past experience)
