In this role, you will support a diverse portfolio of projects focused on understanding the mechanisms of action of novel therapeutics, including recombinant antibodies and other protein-based medicines. Working in a collaborative research environment, you will help design and execute in vivo, in vitro, and ex vivo studies that provide critical proof-of-concept and proof-of-mechanism data to drive drug development programs forward.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Nonclinical Pharmacology, you will play a key role in generating high-quality scientific data while contributing to the ongoing success of CSL’s research programs.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the design and execution of in vivo animal model studies to evaluate potential therapeutic candidates.
- Conduct in vitro and ex vivo experiments to investigate mechanisms of action and biological activity.
- Develop and perform multi-colour flow cytometry assays and analyse complex datasets.
- Design and conduct functional assays to assess leukocyte activation, signalling pathways, and effector functions.
- Perform ELISA and enzyme activity assays to support research objectives.
- Analyse and interpret experimental data using tools such as FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, and Excel.

- Prepare experimental protocols, technical reports, and scientific presentations.
- Assist with laboratory organisation, equipment maintenance, and general operational activities.
- Ensure compliance with animal ethics, safety, and regulatory requirements.

About You

You are a motivated and detail-oriented scientist with a strong background in immunology, biological sciences, or a related field. You enjoy working in a collaborative environment, have a passion for translational research, and are eager to contribute to the development of innovative therapies.

Qualifications & Experience

- Honours degree (or equivalent) in Biological Sciences, Immunology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years’ research experience in industry and/or academia.
- Hands-on experience with animal models, including animal handling, anaesthesia, and surgical/dissection techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise in multi-colour flow cytometry and data analysis.
- Experience performing cell-based functional assays.
- Experience with ELISA and/or enzyme activity assays.

Why Join CSL?
