Head Dog Trainer – Build and Lead Our New Training Division

This is the first Head Trainer position at AAA Pet Resort Brisbane. You'll launch and grow the training program, set the standard for how we train, and build it into a profitable division. As it grows, you'll recruit, lead and coach a team of trainers. You'll own the program's direction and results, working closely with the Resort Manager, who will support you with resources, systems and marketing.

Key responsibilities

Deliver residential Stay'n Train programs: 2- and 3-week programs with optional 1-week extensions, run in small groups

Run Saturday morning group classes, puppy preschool and socialisation classes, with a revenue share on these classes

Deliver Canine Cognitive Workouts, our signature mental stimulation sessions for boarding and daycare dogs

Conduct private sessions, graduate follow-ups and training add-ons for dogs in our care

Provide behaviour support for reactive and anxious dogs

Run weekend workshops such as recall, loose-lead walking and new-puppy basics

Turn enquiries into enrolments through consultations and resort tours

Deliver a professional graduation handover with every owner, setting them and their dog up for success at home

Keep client and dog records accurate in our CRM

Work with our marketing team to create training videos and progress content for social media, email and Google Ads

Build referral relationships with vets, breeders and rescue groups

Report weekly to the Resort Manager on program numbers, revenue, intakes and enquiry conversion

Work with management to set targets,



review performance and plan the program's growth

Develop and document procedures and curriculum so the program can scale while maintaining high standards

Mentor our junior trainers, and train our pet care team in Canine Cognitive Workouts and animal handling

Conduct temperament assessments for new daycare dogs and write settling plans for nervous boarders

About you

Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour and Training (or equivalent)

A brilliant dog trainer with a proven record of high-quality, measurable outcomes

An excellent communicator who can confidently teach owners and build lasting client relationships

Commercially minded and comfortable with consultations, targets and reporting

Skilled, organised and self-driven, with the initiative to take ownership and grow a department

Experience with group classes and board-and-train programs highly regarded

Available Tuesday to Saturday

$80,000 + superannuation
