About the Company
People8 has partnered with an established Brisbane-based engineering consultancy to appoint an experienced Structural Team Lead within its Built Environment division. Our client delivers structural engineering solutions across residential, commercial, industrial, education, retail and aged care developments. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to manage an established team of approximately 8–11 structural engineers and drafters, oversee project delivery, mentor technical professionals and contribute to the ongoing growth of the business. The ideal candidate is a technically capable Structural Engineer who enjoys developing people, building strong client relationships and balancing engineering excellence with commercial outcomes. Requirements
• Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years' relevant industry experience and strong Australian engineering consultancy exposure.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and managing structural engineers and drafters, including workload allocation, performance development and technical guidance.
• Strong structural design experience across residential,



commercial, industrial and other built environment projects, including reinforced concrete and steel structures.
• Proven ability to oversee multiple structural engineering projects, ensuring technical quality, programme delivery, resource utilisation and budget performance.
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards, National Construction Code requirements and structural design compliance, with RPEQ and Chartered Engineer status highly regarded.
• Commercial acumen, including project budgeting, fee proposals, forecasting, client relationship management and contributing to business development opportunities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate a team, resolve technical challenges and collaborate with architects, builders and multidisciplinary consultants. What's on Offer
