Troocoo is partnering with Queensland Government to recruit an AO5 Media and Communications Officer for a contract opportunity through to the end of January 2027, with the possibility of extension.

This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional who enjoys working across proactive and reactive media, strategic communications and creative content development. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality communications that inform stakeholders, support organisational initiatives and strengthen relationships with industry and the broader community.

Based in Albion, you will join a collaborative team where your writing, stakeholder engagement and creative skills will contribute to a range of communication initiatives across traditional and digital channels.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Research, write, review and edit media releases and responses to media enquiries.
- Develop proactive and reactive communications content for social media and digital platforms.
- Create internal and external communications materials for a range of audiences.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with government, industry, community and other stakeholders.
- Develop engaging digital and print content, including publications, brochures, infographics, reports and website materials.
- Support communication strategies, campaigns and organisational initiatives through creative content and design.
- Manage projects from initial brief and concept through to final production, ensuring quality and attention to detail.




- Balance competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

About You

You are a confident and adaptable communications professional with strong writing skills, sound judgement and the ability to deliver engaging content for diverse audiences. You enjoy working across media, digital communications and stakeholder engagement, and can confidently manage both planned communications activities and time-sensitive media requests.

You will bring:

- Strong writing, editing and communication skills, with experience producing high-quality content.
- Experience across media, communications and stakeholder engagement.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work within tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Sound judgement, discretion and a strong eye for detail.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.

Experience in communications, media or a related field will be highly regarded. Familiarity with social media platforms, digital communication tools and content management systems will also be beneficial.
