Work the tools. Lead the crew. Own the result.
Most people are happy to turn up and get through the day. We’re not looking for most people.
We build premium residential landscapes across the Shire and greater Sydney, and demand is solid. What we need now is a hands‑on foreman who raises the standard on every site, by doing the work, leading the crew and keeping jobs on plan so every project finishes on time, finishes clean, and leaves the client delighted. There’s room to move up the ladder for the right person.
This role is for you if:
- You notice the small things: the uneven grout line, the gap at the corner, the materials that should have been ordered yesterday.
- You can’t walk past work that isn’t right, and you’d redo it before you’d hand it over.
- You want a career, not just a job, and you’re after the next step.
- You can lift a whole crew’s performance without being a dictator.
- You’d rather run a tight, well‑planned site than a busy, chaotic one.
- You’d rather lead from the front, on the tools, than sit in a Ute with a clipboard.
What you’ll do:
- Work on the tools on our most complex projects, setting the pace and the standard with your own work.
- Own the day‑to‑day delivery of active residential projects, on time, on budget and to a high standard.
- Plan each job before it starts and set daily targets against the hours allowed for each cost centre.
- Run the team, tradesmen and apprentices: toolbox meetings, daily check‑ins, and fortnightly one‑on‑one coaching.
- Spot slippage early, work out why (skills, instructions, materials or behaviour) and fix it fast.
- Make sure materials,
equipment and subcontractors are lined up in advance so crews never stand around waiting.
- Check quality before the client does, with regular site visits.
- Keep clients informed on site day to day, and pass scope changes to the project manager.
- Watch hours and materials against the allowances in Job Management software so jobs stay on track.
- Back up the crew on other sites with hands‑on support, training and technical guidance.
- Report to the project manager and keep them across progress, hours and issues.
What you bring:
- A landscape construction trade qualification (Cert III) and solid experience in residential hardscape and softscape.
- Proven experience leading a team, ideally as a foreman or senior team leader.
- A track record of bringing jobs in on time and on budget.
- Strong planning and organisation, and the ability to read plans and specs.
- Confident communication with clients, crew, suppliers and management.
- Experience with job management system (a plus).
- Current driver’s licence, white card and a safety‑first approach.
- Pride in your work, and the standards to match.
- Mature minded.
What you get:
- $95-$110k + super, depending on experience and capability.
- Room to move up the ladder as the business grows, based on your performance.
- Work closely with the project manager to help improve how our jobs are planned and run.
- Company iPad & fuel card.
- Ongoing training, plus industry events and supplier workshops.
- 7:00am–3:00pm, Monday to Friday, with time for family.
- A team that works hard, has a laugh, and enjoys a beer and a barbecue.
Applicants must have Australian residency.
