As a key part of the Set for Success "Ready Set Educate" program, you'll provide culturally safe mentoring, case management, and wraparound support to around 40 First Nations students who are working toward completion of CHC30125. You'll help students navigate study, build confidence, connect with local ECEC employers, and stay engaged all the way to completion.

Key responsibilities

- Undertake community-based recruitment and outreach to identify prospective First Nations students
- Build trust and rapport with students and their families
- Conduct pre-enrolment job preview sessions to align expectations with ECEC roles
- Provide weekly mentoring and case management to enrolled students
- Develop and monitor individualised support plans
- Identify disengagement risk early through attendance and progression monitoring
- Follow up on non-attendance within 24 hours
- Deliver or facilitate culturally responsive practices, including yarning-based study sessions
- Coordinate contextualised LLN (language, literacy, numeracy) support
- Build and maintain relationships with ECEC employers in the Townsville region

About you





- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities
- Case management or mentoring experience, particularly with at-risk or disengaged learners
- Certificate IV in Community Services, Youth Work, Education Support, or related field
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card, QLD)
- Current driver's licence and access to a vehicle
- Solid relationship-building skills and cultural sensitivity
- Resilient and adaptable: comfortable managing fluctuating attendance and engagement
- Self-directed, able to work autonomously in a regional context
