This is your chance to play an integral role in The Lottery Office, our medium-sized, rapidly growing business Located on the sunny Gold Coast with our office conveniently across from the Robina Train Station, we have an exciting chance for a motivated, matured minded and experienced Assistant Accountant who enjoys a challenging role to join our small, friendly Finance Team.

20-26 hours per week spread over three or four weekdays – 6-month fixed term contract

On occasions extra hours may be required

Study/school hours can be accommodated

Here's your new opportunity

Reporting to our Finance Manager, as our Assistant Accountant you will be working in a focused and industrious environment within our close-knit team and you will have an opportunity to develop your knowledge of the accounting function of a multiple entity business.

What your workdays will look like

- Weekly and monthly management reporting
- Inter-entity transaction processing




- Asset register maintenance
- Month end balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement preparation and inter-entity loan reconciliations
- Monthly GST review, and assistance with year-end accounts and year-end audit

What you'll bring

Demonstrating high accuracy and excellent initiative, you are a logical thinker with a passion for working with data and Excel spreadsheets. You'll also be a team player who possess the ability to work autonomously and as part of our team. Other requirements to be successful in this role include:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting with solid academic results
- Experienced with Australian accounting and income tax legislation in respect of trusts, companies and individuals
- A minimum of two years recent experience in a similar role or public practice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent Excel skills is a must
- MYOB Acumatica experience will be advantageous, but not essential
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail skills together with commitment to quality
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Proactive and positive attitude to your role and ability to pick up new concepts quickly
- CA/CPA or studying towards CA/CPA would be advantageous, but not essential
- Experience in a multiple entity environment would be highly regarded
